Squaring the Circle 2023

Loane's first solo art exhibition delved into the universe of 'The Cube'  to explore themes of self-identity, belonging and displacement. The robust exhibition space allows Loane's work to unite amongst its environment through neutral organic tones, textures and material whilst also playing with distortion, repetition, reflection and illusion. Loane's exhibition is a meditation on the inner conflict that occurs as we attempt to position ourselves in the context of the society we are brought up and live in through the use of The Cube shape to represent the individual self - a mere shape in a world full of other shapes. Although The Cube changes its textural and visual properties, it does not lose its true Cubic essence - a cube will always be a cube, until it is not.
